BioMap Launches BioX Initiative to Accelerate Global Life Sciences Development with AI

2024-06-26

BioMap Announces the establishment of its first Global Bio-computing Innovation Hub in Hong Kong and the launch of the BioMap Bio-Computing Innovation Accelerator Program — BioMap BioX. This initiative aims to nurture local scientific innovation teams and attract global innovators, starting from Hong Kong, to promote the development of the global AI for Life Science ecosystem. (Registration Link: BioMap BioX Application Form)

BioMap is dedicated to developing AI models for the life sciences, having created the world's largest life sciences language model, "xTrimo" (The Cross-Modal Transformer Representation of Interactome and Multi-Omics), with over 100 billion parameters. This model serves hundreds of users, including renowned multinational pharmaceutical companies like Sanofi.

Based on the foundation life sciences model xTrimo, BioMap has collaborated with ecosystem developers to construct over hundreds state-of-the-art models covering areas such as protein structure, antibody function, enzyme catalysis, and cellular functions. This significantly advances research and applications in the life sciences field. Additionally, leveraging the BioMap AIGP platform, more than a dozen innovative proteins in cutting-edge fields have been designed, further unlocking the potential of large protein language models and accelerating research in drug design, environmental protection, and industrial production efficiency.

Open Collaboration to Promote Life Sciences Innovation

BioMap aims to open its 100-Billion parameter large protein language model and platform ecosystem capabilities to scientific research groups and startups in the life sciences field, supporting the transition from early-stage research to marketable products and industrial-scale companies. Targeting four key areas, which are pharmaceuticals and health, green technology, industrial innovation, and consumption upgrades, BioMap will select and support teams from universities and startups, providing technical support and facilitating connections with global companies and investors in the life sciences and bio-computing sectors.

FAQ

  1. Q: What is the application process?

A: The process includes initial screening, preliminary communication, final review communication, cooperation intent confirmation, agreement signing, and resource support. The selection and signing cycle for a single project is within three months, with rolling announcements.
  2. Q: What can the AIGP platform do?

A: The AIGP (AI Generated Protein) platform is a computational protein design platform built by BioMap. Based on BioMap's trillion-parameter foundation model (xTrimo), we provide basic fine-tuning services, enabling biologists to independently develop targeted models to solve protein design problems. The platform also offers off-the-shelf protein prediction models and other integrated tools to meet researchers' computational protein design needs. 3. Q: How many projects does BioMap plan to support each year?

A: To ensure the quality of project support, we will limit it to fewer than 50 projects per year but will dynamically adjust based on application volume.
  4. Q: Who are the current BioMap InnoHub partners?

A: The initial projects will be primarily supported by BioMap and connected with BioMap's strategic partners, including top 20 international pharmaceutical companies, leading US dollar investors, and resources from science parks and Cyberport. We will continue to update our signed partners.
  5. Q: Who are the final reviewers, and are there external reviewers?

A: The initial projects will be reviewed internally by BioMap executives. We will later introduce external independent reviewers. Stay tuned for updates.
